Mid-20th century Ame ri can Brutalist vintage Modernist torched & welded cut steel metal sculpture of fauna. Overall: 15 ½ " Height x 10" Width x 9 Depth.
Base: 7 ½" Width x 4 ½" Depth. Offered for your review and consideration is this absolutely untouched and 100% original, estate fresh, mid-20th century, American Brutalist vintage Modernist welded, cut and torched metal sculpture, featuring a hand cut wood plinth block base and remnants of original, first generation paint, found on the wooden base and on one side of the standing cock's head. The rooster has highly detailed, naturalistic figuration and plumage, all completely artistically realized with assembled, cut metal steel pieces.The wooden plinth block base has what appears to be old, now almost completely failed and diminished paint on its surfaces. One side of the crowing, open-mouthed rooster has what appears to be original, first generation paint still adorning its side and adding even more life to the realistically depicted standing cock. There's some minor to moderate oxidation of the steel metal surfaces. No attempt has been made to remedy this, chemically knock down and abate the rust, either through washing and oiling of the metal's surfaces.
