Large Elephant Head Sculpture in Corten Steel
The Sculpture is made of Corten weathering Steel (as is "the Angel of the North"). The detachable tripod stand is made from old Wrought Iron salvaged from old railings. The making of the sculpture is a long and painstaking process of cutting to size and shape and welding together all the individual pieces. It is then ground smooth and. Patinated by encouraging it to rust and when it has acquired a desirable colouration.
It is sealed with Boiled linseed oil. The sculpture is made from heavy duty metal (6mm) that is difficult to bend.
