Knife Making Belt Sander/Grinder Idle and Tracking Wheel Assembly

Please read this first: Some people have difficulty to understand how this part fits on a belt sander. I therefore placed it in a vise to present this part in its most natural position.

The unit you will get can work in both left and right hand tracking wheel set-ups. It serves the same purpose but it is more versatile. The default setting: the tracking wheel is mounted on the right hand side of the tracking arm. It is good for all belts not wider than 2-1/4 This listing answers certain requests by buyers who want to test their own skills in building the belt sander.

This tracking/idle wheel assembly is ready made component and designed to fit many belt sander projects. You need to position this unit in the right place and tighten two bolts on its bottom. Then hook up the rear tension spring. There may be necessary to add or remove spacer washers from the wheel shaft. The Idle/Trucking Wheel is 3 OD x 2-1/4 wide (convex for better tracking).

It has 1/2 ID, Exceptional Quality, top of the lane ABEC-7 sealed bearing pressed into pockets and is precision made of machined aluminum. The arm is made of cold rolled steel 8-3/4" long x 2" wide and 3/8 thick. The whole assembly represent the proven design offered by majority of makers.

It is highly adaptable and can be successfully used with some other projects. Can be welded as well if required. The spring may be slightly different than pictured.
