The peony and lion motifs on the iron ground are inlaid with gold inlay in colors, and the ears are inlaid with arabesque gold inlay. The ears are inlaid with arabesque gold. It is a very fine example of tsubaginokko (sword guard work). The description is based on the appearance of the piece, but as it is an object that has passed through many years, there may be some slight scratches or scuffs that have been overlooked.
