ARISTIDE PATSOGLOU GREEK ARTIST LISTED SMALL SCULPTURE EMBRACING LOVING COUPLE GILT BRASS SIGNED. Offered is a superb small gilt brass sculpture by Greek well listed artist Aristide Patsoglou.

It depicts an embracing loving couple and it is signed "Patsoglou" at the base (pictured). The sculpture is exemplary of Patsoglou's anthropomorphic and aesthetic style.

Very charming and expressive piece of art ideal for a collection, home decoration or romantic anniversary gift. The sculpture is in excellent condition with nice patina. It measures 12 cm 4.7 in. Tall X 5 cm 2.0 in. It weighs 125 grams 4.4 oz.

Studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts under Giannis Pappas from 1962 to 1965. Went on to continue his studies in sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1970 to 1974 under the tutelage of César and R.

His painting style tends towards expressionism, often defined by his nervous brushstrokes, purposeful composition and abstract strength of expression. Also an award winning sculptor he has created pieces for both private and public spaces.

Comprising mostly of metal his pieces possess an anthropomorphic aesthetic and purposefully include sections where the metal has been joined or fused together in order to give the impression of erosion. With a strong artistic presence attributing to his numerous solo exhibitions in both Greece, France and abroad he has received numerous awards and distinctions including the Grand Prix d' Arts Plastiques Jeunes, Musée des Beaux-Arts Lyon 1975, First Prize Salon d' Automne Avignon 1980, Silver Metal Salon d' Art Contemporain Montreal 1980, Sculpture First Prize Salon de Taverny 1980.
