Dore Westbury Milling Machine, mk2. This milling machine is a great small mill, with a few differences from the standard Dore Westbury Mk2. The column has a massive amount of height adjustment, allowing for work on very tall workpieces. The motor is mounted to the side rather than off the back, which means the machine takes up less floorspace if pushed against a wall.

There is a quill with coarse and fine feed, in addition to the vertical movement of the column itself, which is controlled by the low handwheel on the front of the stand. I built the stand, and it's pretty robust, though not a thing of great beauty.

The machine could also be mounted on a benchtop if you don't want the stand. The previous owner restored this mill and changed the leadscrews to metric ones. The motor has forward and reverse, and a range of speeds using the belts, in addition to a planetary gear arrangement for lower speeds, down to 36 RPM.

The spindle is MT2, and has what is apparently a Myford thread on it, though I've never used that. Drawbar is M10 or 3/8ths, depending on tooling. I've had this machine for about 2 years, and only used it lightly in that time. Unfortunately, the vice is not included.

The mill comes apart to the extent that I moved it in a very small hatchback when I first bought it. The stand is a little bigger, I can give dimensions if you need them, but I think it'd fit in the back of a small car with the back seats down. The item "Dore Westbury Milling Machine, mk2.
